Relativ överlevnad för patienter med icke-maligna tumörer i

ABSTRACT. The authors report the histological and histochemical examination of four cases of hemangiopericytoma. The tumors showed mature, differentiated, and undifferentiated cells with frequent mitoses, and an abundance of anaplastic cells. Intracranial hemangiopericytoma (HPC) is a rare tumor of central nervous system, anaplastic type (grade 3) being the rarest. HPC closely mimics meningiomas in clinical and radiological features, thus, its diagnosis and treatment is a challenge. We report a rare case of histopathologically diagnosed anaplastic HPC of frontal lobe of the brain.

Hemangiopericytoma (HPC) is a rare, aggressive, and highly vascularized mesenchymal tumor. Many features of HPC resemble meningiomas, Reference Tashjian, Khanlou and Vinters 1– Reference Mena, Ribas and Pezeshkpour 4 which explains why these were initially classified as angioblastic meningiomas by Cushing and Eisenhardt. Reference Bailey, Cushing and Eisenhardt 5 … 2019-09-21 Background: Hemangiopericytoma (HPC), or solitary fibrous tumor of the central nervous system (CNS), is a rare mesenchymal tumor that arises from the pericytes of the meningeal capillaries. Object: Intracranial hemangiopericytoma (HPC) is a rare and malignant extraaxial tumor with a high proclivity toward recurrence and metastasis. Given this lesion's rarity, little information exists on prognostic factors influencing mortality rates following treatment with surgery or radiation or both. Hemangiopericytoma tumors are a rare type of tumor in the blood vessels and soft tissue of the brain.

I grew up in Farmersville and Visalia, CA in the central valley Pathological examination of the tumor yielded findings consistent with hemangiopericytoma. Post-operatively, the patient was treated to prevent vasospasm. CONCLUSION: Although an intracranial tumor including hemangiopericytoma uncommonly causes subarachnoid hemorrhage, it should be taken into consideration as a source of intracranial hemorrhage.

Conventional radiographs are rarely diagnostic of hemangiopericytoma in any region of the body. The most common finding for a primary lesion is a nonspecific soft-tissue mass; approximately 10% contain speckled calcification .

(Bottom) Avid, heterogeneous enhancement on postcontrast imaging is also typical. Introduction. Similar to the hemangiopericytoma of soft tissues in pathological features, first reported by Stout and Murray (), intracranial meningeal hemangiopericytoma (M-HPC) is a rare mesenchymal tumor, possibly of pericytic origin in the meninges, which was initially described by Begg and Garret () in 1954. Hemangiopericytoma: These are rare, grade II or III tumors. They appear to originate in the cells surrounding the blood vessels in the meninges.
